The FWDP gang
I recall a passion for creativity from a very early age and I’ve always loved the feeling of bringing an idea to life. Schooled and accomplished in the traditional techniques of commercial illustration, airbrush, technical pens and watercolour, I embarked on my career just as Apple Mac dawned on the creative market.
It was at 23, after just two years working at a busy London creative agency, that I decided I wanted to build and run my own business. I feel incredibly lucky to have contributed to the creative development of so many wonderful projects over the years. Through our work we have helped many customers realise their vision and delivered new experiences to countless people across the UK – something I hope we can continue to do for many years to come.
I was born the great grandson to an Impressionist artist of the Parisian Artisan movement of the late 1800′s and son to a St. Martin’s School of Fine Art Illustrator, my career path had been pretty much mapped out in my genetic coding!
I still get as excited today by design, art and its function as I did when first introduced to the commercial world of design at the age of 7, when I would happily spend a Saturday morning in a London design agency watching my dad airbrushing and painting – happy days! The tools may have changed but the passion remains exactly the same as it always has done!
I must be the luckiest man alive as my role of Account Manager allows me to visit so many wonderful places as part of the consultation process; although walking around a beautiful National Trust property taking notes in the rain poses some challenges, I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Schooled in Graphic Design and having spent many years designing for a busy London publishing house, I can view every project from a creative angle, understanding the needs of the client and the full breadth of the design process.
Most Sundays you’ll find me exploring the beautiful Welsh Countryside with my trusted Border Collie Jim, along with many other budding adventurers. Something we all share is the requirement for good information to help us on our way. It’s great to know that as a result of what we do we help to make days out more enjoyable for everyone – adventurers and FWDP staff included!
Whether I am snapping away on my camera or adding to my bursting art scrapbook, more often than not I am busy doing something artistic in my spare time. I have always had a creative flare which probably explains why I adored my Media Writing course at the University of Greenwich so much. It combined everything I love, from writing newspaper articles and penning film scripts to experimenting with abstract photography and even a little bit of video production.
I am one of the newest members of the FWDP team and my position here allows me to embrace a variety of creative initiatives, from producing engaging and interesting copy to updating various social media channels and gathering research. Besides photography, I enjoy jogging, playing Rock Band and molly cuddling my black and white kitten, Gonzo.
Numbers are my game, but not being creative with them I might add! As costing Estimator attention to detail is everything; leave no stone unturned; let no budget be left behind.
I love working in a creative environment. As the son of a photographer I attended many weddings from the age of 10 as my father’s photographic assistant, and as I grew my skill in the art of photography and composition grew also.
I spend many an hour in the great outdoors walking my faithful pooch Koda and building my photographic library. Koda is an Alaskan Malamute/ Akita cross, a beast of a dog with the temperament of sparrow! It is very satisfying on these occasions to see the work we do being enjoyed by so many.
I am the youngest and newest member of the FWDP sales engagement team and come from a background in product design. My position allows me to utilise these skills in recommending the most suitable solution for every enquiry and working with the creative team to deliver ever more engaging designs.
I am a huge fan of literature and am passionate about Shakespeare; “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.” beautiful. I love to read and experience the creative copywriting that goes into every project and see the transition that is idea to reality.
I went to university in Suffolk and anyone who has spent any time in Suffolk would know you need to like the outdoors! With so much wide open space on my doorstep and without a car it was me versus the elements, but what started as a pain soon became a passion.
Working in heritage design transports me back to those days and when working on a new design project I’m like a big kid in a sweetshop! Being part of the creative team immerses me in every step of the design process; a fascinating journey from initial concept through to final realisation; a truly satisfying experience.
I’ve always enjoyed being creative – as a kid I loved empty cardboard boxes (it’s amazing what you can make from a cardboard box!) so it was only natural that when I was older I went on to study art and design. My role in the team is very much about bringing information to life and it’s great to see a client’s face when they review our ideas – it’s something that has given me a great deal of pleasure over the years.
I also head up the digital development side of the department on web and App based platforms. Emerging technologies are an ever evolving world of change and it is important we understand and embrace these new disciplines to continue delivering the right messages to the right people in the right way.
After growing up in rural Poland moving to urban Britain was quite a culture shock. It was here that I realised my passion for art and illustration.
I studied for 6 years at Isleworth, Wimbledon and Harrow Art Schools, refining my skills in drawing and illustration, before embarking on a career in commercial illustration. I joined FWDP in 1995 and have loved every minute working in this busy creative environment.
In my spare time you’ll find me pottering around my garden studio producing stained glass, Tiffany lamps and etchings; and as an active member of Greenwich Print Makers I guess there isn’t much spare time!
